Metropolitan Telecommunications (MetTel) has installed GENBAND Inc.s G6 Universal Media Gateway in its VoIP network.
The gateway will increase the number of MetTels T1 access ports and allow the company to segregate its internal network so it can ensure enhanced quality services and quicker maintenance response times, GENBAND said.
The G6 Universal Media Gateway is an open standards, circuit-to-packet platform that resides in a service provider’s switching office, headend or PoP.
“The G6 platform in the MetTel network will help them expand their business service offerings and incrementally add VoIP customers nationwide,” said Charles Vogt, president and CEO of GENBAND.
