Whaleback Systems at VON introduced two new features to its CrystalBlue Voice Service, which gives SMBs access to VoIP through a cable or DSL connection.
The features are Road Warrior Functionality and OrcaDial. Road Warrior Functionality allows businesses to connect multiple offices, mobile employees and telecommuters as if they were all located under one roof. OrcaDial provides click-to-dial functionality across multiple applications. This means, for example, a user can highlight a phone number in a desktop application and hit the F10 key to make a call. OrcaDial works with desktop applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe PDF files.
Unlike traditional IP PBX manufacturers that focus product development on meeting the needs of the largest enterprise customers, Whaleback develops new features on Internet time because we focus on the unique needs of SMBs, said Mark Galvin, co-founder, president and CEO of Whaleback Systems. Road Warrior Functionality provides the mobility SMBs need, and OrcaDial delivers productivity to all employees across the organization.
Both Road Warrior Functionality and OrcaDial are immediately available in the Curtis Island software release, which will ship with new installations of WhaleBacks SMB 1500 IP PBX.
Existing customers of Whalebacks CrystalBlue Voice Service are eligible for a free software upgrade for the SMB 1500.
