Systems integrator Quiconnect, which is headquartered in London, is helping Sprint Nextel Corp. broaden its European WLAN presence; it has signed a bilateral access and interconnect services agreement with RoamPoint to give Sprint’s corporate customers access to Wi-Fi supplier The Cloud’s 7,000 hotspots in the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
RoamPoint manages the interconnection of Wi-Fi network operators and service providers; The Cloud offers national WLAN coverage in hotspots throughout Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Sprint Nextel Corp. last year chose Quiconnect to act as its European partner to establish wider WLAN access so traveling Sprint customers can access e-mail and corporate systems.
[W]e are making great strides in capturing more footprint to offer to our customers, said Mark Brigman, Sprint’s WLAN business development manager. Clearly, they see huge value in having more and more choices of where they can get Internet access and the new deal with The Cloud only serves to enhance our ability to serve customers better.”
