Sprint Nextel Corp. today announced a carrier-neutral professional services subsidiary to work on mobility projects for large businesses and government agencies.
Sprint Enterprise Mobility Inc. will consult on the design, implementation and support for customized mobility solutions from a variety of service providers and vendors.
Sprint Enterprise Mobility will help businesses unleash the full potential of mobility through its approach, said Bill Halbert, president at Sprint Enterprise Mobility. Companies often work with multiple providers to meet their specific needs, particularly on a national or global basis. This company, he says, eliminates that complexity.
The new company also fills an expertise gap in the large enterprise segment, said Len Lauer, COO for Sprint Nextel. Most businesses recognize the potential that mobility solutions offer, but tell us they don’t have the expertise or resources to tackle major deployments across multiple companies and operating systems, he said.
Sprint Enterprise Mobility will recommend solutions from Sprint Nextel, other wireless carriers, systems integrators, device manufacturers and application developers to create tailored mobility solutions based on business needs, such as driving competitive advantages, cost benefits and productivity enhancement. The group also will consult on getting enterprises ready for mobile, including establishing or modifying business processes and policies, and changing employee work styles or corporate cultures.
Sprint Enterprise Mobility will deliver the following elements:
* Consultation: Identifying, creating and defining the opportunity and planning and designing the business solution;
* Solution design, development and integration: Developing the solution and integrating hardware, software, services, business processes and organizational factors;
* Operation, service and support: Supporting, maintaining and (where appropriate) operating the solution or delivering a managed service;
* Project and program management: End-to-end management of the delivery process for individual projects and complex business programs.
