MetaSwitch (Booth 1323) this week is coming out with what it calls the worlds smallest fully featured Class 5 switch, which also can be used for IP traffic.
The 7U high, 19-inch wide, 12-inch deep product serves up to 15,000 subscribers. MetaSwitch intends to sell the product, which will be available in November, for 20 to 30 percent less than its existing Class 5 alternative solution, says Andy Randall, vice president of marketing.
The product comes in VP2510 and MG2510 models, which can be used as a switch or gateway, respectively.
