Control Point Solutions (CPS, Booth 724) is announcing a number of improvements to its turnkey solution addressing margin management through revenue assurance and expense management.
In the pursuit of revenue assurance for carriers, a vendors software and full-service versatility is key, says Dan Baker, research director for Dittberner Associates Inc. Control Point Solutions, for instance, not only manages interconnect accounts payable/receivables for its carrier customers, but it can also act as their legal agent in billing disputes. With a full buffet of service bureau, software and outsource offerings and more than 400 telecom-savvy people on staff, Control Point Solutions offers the kind of scalability a Tier 1 client needs.
Theresa McClure, CPSs director of revenue assurance, says new software enhancements have strengthened the companys professional services capabilities. For instance, the company now employs CDR-level usage audits and new automation to find stranded assets. Our revenue-management strategy is to install controls to monitor the revenue stream. We now are adding new capabilities to automate that process, she says.
The revenue-assurance programs include an end-to-end review of carriers process and systems, encompassing product and service delivery, sales order management, switch translations, provisioning, revenue-leakage studies, event processing, billing and accounts receivable, and more.
Through these processes, the company helps telecommunications carriers address common operational problems, such as reconciliation of billing systems with provisioning activity, revenue leakage associated with pricing promotions, usage not collected or sent to a stranded system and never billed, and call-usage information dropped as networks are upgraded.
The market is actively seeking better ways to manage revenue. These new capabilities strengthen our expense-management capabilities of reducing [access] and interconnection costs through audits and strategic sourcing benchmarking to ensure carriers rates are competitive. says Jeff Hegan, vice president of carrier sales for Control Point Solutions.
