VoiceLog LLC (Booth 704), provider of third-party verification services, has released its new report, Best Practices in Third-Party Verification, which lists 24 recommendations for meeting regulatory requirements and successfully obtaining customer consent.
We hope these guidelines will be useful both to the telecom and utility clients we serve, and to other companies that may be interested in using TPV (third-party verification) to eliminate fraud, reduce disputes and increase customer compliance, says Larry Leikin, vice president of VoiceLog.
VoiceLog developed the guidelines by distributing an initial draft to state PUCs, consumer advocates and others, gathering comments to incorporate into its recommendations. Some of the recommendations include making sure companies use a truly independent verification company, VoiceLog says. This meets regulatory requirements and increases the legitimacy of the process for consumers, making it less likely for them to dispute a recording.
VoiceLog also has teamed with PHONE+ to sponsor a Webinar that discusses the report. The Webinar, initially held in August, remains available for solutions providers and other companies to view at www.phoneplusmag.com/webinars. The session included the latest in TPV regulations and how to ensure compliance; techniques to reduce the risk of slamming liability; and script and technological techniques proven to increase TPV success rates and sales.
