SNET Diversified Group (Booth 301) unveils new interconnection arrangements and service enhancements.
The company now has interconnection facilities at 60 Hudson Street in New York City, to provide TDM and IP-based service providers with access to its national SS7 signaling network and database services. It also announced interconnection with Stealth CommunicationsVoice Peering Fabric (VPF), as an application services provider. It will offer VPF members SIP access to Intelligent Network database information, such as CNAM, 8XX and LNP information.
On the service front, SNET DG has expanded its Service Order Administration (SOA) Service Bureau, a hosted number portability solution, to offer local service request processing between service providers and their trading partners. Although SNET DGs hosted SOA Service Bureau is available to any local service provider, it has a special benefit to VoIP operators, since it gives them control over porting transactions, eliminating any reliance on telecom partners that may not consider their ports a top priority.
Meanwhile, SNET DGs Data Gateway product line has added Intrusive Operating Company Number (OCN) Service to help carriers avoid unbillable calls by preventing call completion if the carrier does not have a billing and collections relationship with a particular local service provider. SNET DG suspends the SS7 call set-up message, determines the OCN of the calling number, and screens the OCN against a table of allowable OCNs. Based on the results, the call set-up message either is allowed to continue, or an indication is returned to the carrier that there is no billing relationship, which gives the carrier the option to terminate the call.
