SDN Global (Booth 801) announces it has partnered with Station 53 LLC, based in Stamford, Conn., to provide the next wave of maritime communication technology.
The two companies partnered for an installation aboard Avalon, a 110-foot ketch yacht.
SDN Global provided its BroadSat technology while Station 53 supplied the antenna and onboard installation. The Avalon now has high-speed Internet, e-mail and VoIP capabilities. The move represents an expansion into the maritime communications market for SDN Global.
SDN Globals BroadSat technology is a broadband service created to serve remote locations where carrier access is not practical or communication is needed quickly.
BroadSat is designed to deliver IP traffic over satellite and is a high-end system for enterprise applications.
We are excited to play a part in this maritime solution with Station 53, says Scott Pederson, director of channel markets for SDN Global. The partnership with Station 53 will combine the efficiencies of the iDirect platform and more than 20 years of maritime communication expertise. Our product offering provides excellent performance and is cost-effective versus alternative maritime broadband options, SDN Global offers a suite of products that includes BroadSat, GenSat, JobSat and RecoverSat. Each is designed to meet the specific need of industry, location and customer use.
