The Florida Public Service Commission has approved Interlink Global Corp.s request to receive its CLEC license.
Interlink offers international VoIP services and says becoming a CLEC means it can offer local and long-distance services as a carrier, rather than a reseller. The license also means the company can reduce costs on trunk rates from ILECs, saving Interlink up to 45 percent of what it now pays.
The CLEC designation further allows Interlink to offer ISP services to companies that cannot qualify for CLEC status.
We will utilize our licensed status to expand our joint ventures and marketing partnerships that allow Interlink and our partners and customers to achieve a competitive advantage due to the lowering of our direct traffic costs and the additional services that we will now be offering, says Anastasios Kyriakides, Chairman of Interlink.
Interlink plans to target semi-rural and urban markets, where a number of SMBs are located.
