Bandwidth.com has signed on to resell services from fixed-wireless ISP TowerStream.
Bandwidth.com sells VoIP and Internet technologies to companies throughout the United States, and says TowerStream is the first wireless broadband provider it is offering to its clients.
“Our partnership with TowerStream will enable us to offer customers our first pre-WiMAX solution that provides an extremely affordable option for those looking for an alternative broadband solution,” says David Morken, president of Bandwidth.com. “Our goal is to give customers the ability to choose the service that best fits their needs.
TowerStream offers multiple digital voice lines, bandwidth on demand, wireless redundancy, VPNs, disaster recovery, bundled data and video services. The company says the deal gives it access to a new, profitable reseller channel.
“Right now the industry is at the point where WiMAX technology is nearly ready, but establishing the right sales and marketing channels is what will ultimately determine its mass adoption, says Jeff Thompson, COO of TowerStream. Bandwidth.com will offer our solutions alongside traditional wireline services proving there are viable distribution models for WiMAX that are on par with landline models.”
