Cogent Communications Group Inc., a facilities-based ISP, is expanding its footprint in the United States and Europe.
The companys new on-net markets include Baltimore, Cleveland, Portland, Ore., and St. Louis in the United States, and Copenhagen, Denmark; Nuremberg, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Vigo, Spain; and Porto, Portugal, in Europe.
Cogent is providing all of its services — wholesale and retail — in these markets, Internet transit and Layer 2 point-to-point.
The provider also says it has boosted its trans-Atlantic capacity; it now owns an OC-192 between New York and Madrid, Spain, an OC-192 between Boston and London, and an OC-48 between Washington, D.C. and Frankfurt, Germany.
Security and UCaaS and SD-WAN, the triple-headed monster, dominated the news last week. https://t.co/Yoq7yrjhkf
