US Signal Enhances SLA

US Signal Company LLC (Booth 632) introduced its enhanced service level agreement (SLA) for companies marketing VoIP services and other mission-critical applications requiring higher network performance.

This new SLA now provides our partners with the operational guarantees they need to present a real voice quality network for todays VoIP solutions, says US Signal President Barry Raterink. Network performance is critical to companies utilizing VoIP applications. The voice quality must be perceived as the same as traditional phone systems or the application would be rendered useless.

In addition to five 9s of availability, the SLA includes 99.999 percent uptime, less than 35ms latency, less than 0.1 percent packet loss and less than 2ms jitter.

Customers will be compensated with service credits if US Signal fails to meet these performance metrics.

This new SLA is also targeting the timing-sensitive applications such as collaborative applications, streaming video or video conferencing, which are also demanding increased performance from our network, says Stephen Oyer, executive vice president of sales and marketing for US Signal.

US Signal has built a fiber-optic network in the Midwest. It offers high-speed capacity, Internet access, dark fiber and colocation services. It also works with customers to design and build new network construction projects.
