Xspedius Communications LLC has made its voice and data services available for wholesale distribution. The facilities-based integrated communications provider has 31 Class 5 switches on its fiber network consisting of 3,500-plus route miles throughout the southern United States.
Xspedius recent network upgrade to a robust MPLS backbone offers telecommunications providers the option of leveraging its network to enter local markets and sell integrated data and voice services to businesses, the company says. Xspedius also gives carriers a way to migrate away from their current reliance on UNE-P.
Wholesale services offered include Special Access for delivering SONET-grade connectivity; Metro ConneX for high-capacity data transfer with network management support; Ethernet; and Data ConneX, a catalog of data connectivity services including frame, ATM and private line.
"The regulatory landscape regarding UNE-P is changing rapidly, and Xspedius is able to offer telecom carriers an alternative way to keep serving their customers via our facilities-based infrastructure," says Randall P. Muench, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Xspedius. "As a supplier of wholesale service, we’re able to leverage our network to help carriers who may not want to take on the financial risk of constructing their own networks."
"The big, one-stop-shop providers just can't keep up with this pace of change." goo.gl/fb/Ew3Lq2
