Worldwide Telco Deploys Excel Platforms

Excel Switching Corp. (Booth 223) announced Worldwide Telco successfully has installed Excels CSP 2090 as an integrated media gateway, and registration and media server. Worldwide Telco is using the CSP 2090 with its Worldwide IP Phone (wIPphone) Internet telephony service, which targets residential and small business customers.

Worldwide Telco selected Excels CSP 2090 because it offers the best price performance for VoIP gateway, media server and authentication server functions, says Eyal Yaari, vice president of Worldwide Telco. Its support for the multiple IP functions in a single compact platform enables us to offer the lowest prices to our customers.

The CSP 2090 platform enables providers to implement IP- and TDM-based service offerings across fixed and mobile networks. Part of Excels AnyGen product family, the CSP 2090 offers native support for SIP and H.323 IP networks plus simultaneous support for SS7, PRI and CAS based networks provides carriers with flexibility and a fast time to market for new services.

wIPphone features free unlimited calls to any other wIPphone, and also boasts low domestic and international rates, no monthly fees, Web-based management and more.

The wIPphone service based on the Excel CSP is interoperable with a range of hardware and software phone solutions, including a softphone that runs on a PC, a complete VoIP telephone unit, and several integrated access devices that allow users to use their own phones, says the company.

Worldwide Telcos innovative wIPphone service is a great example of how a company can leverage the full functionality of our CSP 2090 to rapidly enter new markets and offer VoIP services at competitive price points, says JC Murphy, president of Excel. Their unlimited worldwide phone service offering has been well received by the market to date, and Excels CSP is built to continue to handle its growth.

Excel is demonstrating its gateway capabilities at its booth during the CompTel/ASCENT show.
