WilTel Communications (Booth 605) unveiled a wholesale IP-enabled voice solution suite providing IP interconnections to carriers, resellers and VoIP providers, alleviating the need for IP-TDM protocol conversion.
We have a variety of voice services available today on a wholesale basis. Historically, they have been TDM-based. Now they are available to IP carriers, says Jeff Storey, president and CEO of WilTel, noting the carrier delivers more than 4 billion minutes of wholesale voice traffic per month.
Customers can connect to WilTels IP voice services via dedicated Internet access, MPLS IP VPN or peering, enabling access to a suite of dedicated voice services. Services include switched and dedicated 1+, enhanced toll free, carrier termination, calling card, carrier transport and international termination.
The expanded service is made possible by the addition of an IP-enabled voice architecture incorporating WilTels MPLS IP backbone and Telicas PLUS softswitch to WilTels existing DMS-250 voice network.
WilTel Communications delivers advanced data, video, IP and professional services and solutions for some of the worlds largest telecommunications carriers, ISPs, corporations, global media and entertainment companies. We are the premier provider for high definition video delivery, notes Storey. With VoIP we wanted to build on that capability.
