Lightyear Network Solutions LLC (Booth 604) has announced strategic partnerships with Level 3 Communications Inc. (Booth 710), Covad Communications Group Inc. and Sylantro Systems Corp. to deliver Lightyears new XSTREAM, a suite of VoIP and broadband products for business and residential customers.
The business-class products include VoIP, DSL, local PRI, dynamic T1, IP Centrex and hosted PBX. The residential service includes DSL and voice services.
Lightyear will use Level 3 as the primary network provider for the Internet component of its new services and Covad as its national DSL provider. Sylantro Systems provides the soft-switch component of the XSTREAM products.
By combining the core competencies of these three companies, Lightyear is poised to lead the industry in providing IP-centric telephony solutions that are simply unparalleled, says Bruce Widener, Lightyears senior vice president of corporate development. Level 3 is the premier network provider of Internet connectivity for millions of users worldwide. Covad is an integral piece of our strategy to realize the true voice and data convergence via DSL broadband. Sylantro leads the market in softswitch deployments, including a demonstrated ability to integrate with next-generation service providers such as Level 3 and Covad.
Lightyear also has partnered with Cisco Systems Inc. for media gateway equipment, Sun Microsystems Inc. for softswitch servers, Signal Holdings for the analog telephone adapter and IPeria Inc. for network communications software.
XSTREAM business products will be sold through Lightyears authorized agent channel. The residential version will be distributed through Lightyear Alliance, a network marketing division with more than 6,000 representatives nationwide.
