Sipmedia LLC which provides VoIP services to residential and small business customers under the myPhoneCompany.com brand, announced upgrades to its new service and its availability through a new partner program.
Specifically, Sipmedia is announcing the addition of E911 capability effective Sept. 1 and the availability of DIDs nationwide. Both capabilities are the result of an agreement with Level 3 Communications Inc.
Sipmedia launched its calling plans and its accompanying partner program July 1. Bob Charish, COO of Sipmedia, says the service is facilities-based with Sipmedia owning and operating its own softswitches. Level 3, he says, is providing some additional functionality.
Sipmedia is offering a range of products, including unlimited calling plans with standard calling features and enhanced voice mail at no additional charge, in 46 states and more then 2,300 rate centers.
The new partner program includes a Web-based portal where agents can sign up to represent myPhoneCompany.com as well as manage subagents, commissions and customer usage. Charish says marketing tools, such as Web banner ads and e-mail templates, also are downloadable for use by agents and can be linked to their agent code to track leads. Agents can choose a commission structure with monthly recurring payouts or one-time bounties.
Charish says that since the program launched last month, several agents are on board and 30 to 40 customers have been signed.
With the recent court rulings creating instability with the UNE-P platform, Sipmedia is positioning its services as an alternative to UNE-P. We are welcoming all agents selling UNE-P, says Charish. We are working with them to transition customers to VoIP.
Significantly, he adds, the company offers local number portability so these customers would not have to change their phone numbers.
