Broadwing Inc. and Focal Communications (Booth 611) plan on giving Channel Partners Expo attendees a glimpse of what the combined company will look like following their expected merger.
Broadwing and Focal agents will represent all Broadwing and Focal voice and data product lines, such as dedicated Internet access, frame relay, switched and dedicated long distance offered nationwide and local voice PRI/T1s in 23 major markets. Also, Focals integrated voice and data (IVAD) offering provides a scalable voice solution for customers and is a premiere product for the agent channel, the company says, since the IVAD targets the small to medium-sized market and is very competitively priced. It can support up to 32 voice channels and up to 1.5 Mbps of bandwidth. A dynamic bandwidth feature provides flexibility for using the bandwidth for data while the voice channels are not in use.
Details as to company restructuring and other post-merger logistics were not available at press time, but a Broadwing spokeswoman said the merger will be the focus of the two companies presence at the show.
