Customer Wins Pepper Billing and OSS World 2004

Among heavier foot traffic than either Billing World or OSS World enjoyed last year, several exhibitors at this years combined Billing and OSS World in Washington D.C. were celebrating high-profile customer wins. All this is a sign, some said, of a returning telco market.

Finally things seem to be turning around, says MetaSolvs Ed Bryson. A lot of these folks have been very challenged and now theres a glimmer of hope.

Momentum Telecom selected OSG Billing Services for invoice consultation, due to its online invoice management capability, says Momentum. OSG also will equip Momentum with design, electronic composition, printing and mailing, including messaging resources and highlight colors. Meanwhile, CoManage Corp. announced that Sprint Corp.s local telecom division will use the TrueSource OSS solution, which ensures critical operations processes are based on accurate data about the network and services. Cymbal, a consulting, systems integration and outsourcing company, announced Comcast and Covad Communications Group Inc. as its latest customers, while Acterna announced that two existing customers have decided to extend their use of NetOptimize OSS to include performance and capacity management for data and transport networks.

Chances are, new customer wins are on the horizon for many exhibitors at the show. While the floor was far from mobbed, by all accounts the amount of quality interest has improved significantly from last year, when telco infrastructure spending was still foundering.

Its a steady stream, says UDPs marketing manager, Brenda Morgan, of the foot traffic.
