PowerNet Global Communications (Booth 205), an integrated communications provider, is preparing to extend its on-net capabilities to provide wholesale voice termination services.
Routing over its Aleron OC48 nationwide backbone with Veraz Networks softswitch equipment, the solution will provide voice termination in a variety of protocols. The service is targeted at ILECs, CLECs, voice aggregators, prepaid platforms, resellers with limited facilities and cable telephony providers.
Were excited about the opportunity to launch multiple VoIP products throughout the year by leveraging our OC48 backbone and our strategic vendor relationships with companies such as Veraz Networks, says Alan Yarborough, director of product development for PowerNet Global. This is the year PowerNet Global will advance significantly as a network provider into both wholesale and retail markets by offering competitively priced, feature-rich next-generation products and services.
PowerNet Global is planning to expand these backhaul services to 20 additional markets throughout 2004. PowerNet has PoPs in Ashburn, Va., Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Palo Alto, Calif., and Seattle.
