Communications Data Group Inc. (CDG, Booth 833) has released two significant enhancements to Service Activation Manager (SAM), a telecom billing and provisioning system. The first, Mass Audit, enhances SAMs existing ability to compare device configurations with billing. The second feature, Test Drive, helps companies roll out services such as call waiting on a trial basis.
Our goal is to design systems that can take on a large percentage of the work involved in the installation, cancellation, billing and auditing of services, explains Todd Dickinson, research and development manager. By accomplishing this, we help customers realize significant improvements in customer care, thereby allowing a tremendous savings in resources.
Mass Audit allows users to schedule audits for a specific account range, or an entire exchange. It could be a one-time or recurring service — even processing by the month, quarter or year. Mass Audit can then generate a report that shows users the differences between information on the switch and services billed. Mass Audit is able to run at a lower priority than other work. This keeps tasking priorities appropriately in balance.
CDG will have a laptop available to demonstrate SAMs new features, along with all other CDG products, at its booth.
