In this new role, Brunnick will be responsible for global revenue and client development at Luminoso. He also will be charged with building new channel partner relationships that provide Luminoso access to new clients and incremental revenue opportunities.
Brunnick tells Channel Partners that he is “particularly energized and excited by startups," and this is his second startup where he’s been given the opportunity to lead and help define its full go-to-market strategy.
“I joined Luminoso because I was excited by the technology and I knew that with some additional professional help, bringing in my experience, I could help take the company to the next level," he said.
Brunnick has held key leadership positions during the last 30 years and most recently served as vice president of sales and customer success at Socialware, where he led all revenue-generating activities for the emerging SaaS company. In two years, he increased annual revenue by more than 50 percent and total contract values by more than 200 percent, serving as a major driver for Socialware’s success and acquisition by Proofpoint.
Prior to that, he held key leadership positions with Hewlett Packard and OpenText. He currently is the leader of the New England Chapter of VetsinTech.
Brunnick is launching Luminoso’s first partner program, and said there is a line of companies waiting to become partners because “it’s become clear that this is unique technology, and allows them and their clients to get insights not otherwise possible."
“The good problem that we have is we have lots and lots of folks who want to be partners with Luminoso," he said. “We have to define the program in real time around, OK, these folks would be great resellers, these folks would be great refers, or adjacent technologies where they say we are seeing the need for these kinds of solutions. We have a great variety of technology companies, SIs and digital advertising agencies that are interested in being partners with Luminoso."
Brunnick said he will be building an indirect sales team and is zeroing in on appointing a director of channels who will report to him, and will be adding staff to support partners in various areas.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Mike's caliber join our team," Havasi said. “We have spent the past 10 years establishing a strong, proprietary base in natural language processing and artificial intelligence capabilities from our days at the MIT Media Lab to our current work at Luminoso. We are now positioned to expand our business and address the significant marketplace needs in this growing area. We are excited to have Mike bring these industry leading capabilities to our global client base as well as develop new channel partners."
