Partners who sell VoIP and business-phone systems have new products and services to add to their portfolios.

Voxox has unveiled Cloud Phone Pro, a hosted VoIP service that the company is promoting to businesses of all sizes. Cloud Phone Pro is designed for businesses that want a fully hosted solution that can replace their existing phone service but allow them to continue to use phones they have purchased from vendors.

Features include an intuitive user interface; and local support and training. The Cloud Phone product line made its debut a year ago with its virtual PBX service.

Meantime, San Diego-based Mushroom Networks has a new product called VoIP Armor. It aims to improve VoIP voice quality and call reliability.

As the name suggests, VoIP Armor shields VoIP traffic against any type of WAN link performance fluctuations and link failures. It is also designed to boost simultaneous call capacity thanks to the increased WAN bandwidth of bonded Internet lines.

“More and more enterprises are looking to take advantage of VoIP, especially to connect their branch and remote offices, because of the inherent cost savings VoIP provides. But all too often, the VoIP systems are prone to dropped calls, lower voice quality or simply too inconsistent to be relied upon as effective audio communication," said Cahit Akin, CEO of Mushroom Networks.

Not to be outdone, Digium has introduced Switchvox Rescue, which gives the company’s Switchvox on-premises business phone customers a business-continuity service that protects against unexpected system downtime. Switchvox is Digium’s unified communications (UC) system.

Switchvox Rescue uses cloud technology to restore a customer’s business communications in minutes, requiring only a single phone call to Digium to start the recovery process.

Switchvox Rescue customers can access their rescued system from anywhere through the same browser-based interface that Switchvox customers access in their main system. The service costs $90 per month, but is available for $45 for a limited time.
