XO Communications has expanded its access to Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud computing solutions.

XO has added dedicated connections that support more secure network connectivity for enterprises at speeds ranging from 50 to 500 mbps. The company says the expansion of this relationship with AWS enhances existing connection speeds of 1 and 10 gbps.

"Companies of all sizes are now looking for reliable, more secure access to cloud resources through direct connections to AWS," said Nicola Jackson, vice president, product and marketing at XO Communications. “Toward achieving that for our customers, XO is helping companies maximize their network investments with cost-effective connections to the cloud."

Enterprise adoption of cloud-based services requires secure network connectivity and management tools. XO says that enterprises leveraging AWS along with XO’s Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) technology, can accelerate their cloud strategies without many of the challenges and risks associated with public Internet access. Integrating XO IP-VPN service with dedicated connections to AWS can become part of an enterprise's secure, virtual private network architecture.
