iPhone 6: Look for a Sept. 19 Release Date

Production is said to be ramping up for the upcoming iPhone 6.

A new report from Chinese media, cited by G For Games, claims that the latest version of Apple’s iconic handset is in the “production validation test" stage, which is supposedly the last stage before full-blown mass production.

The follow-up to the iPhone 5s will likely be announced on Sept. 9 and go on sale on Sept. 19.In a leak to Bloomberg earlier this month, we learned that Apple will host a media event for Tuesday, Sept. 9, which one would presume is to announce the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 might actually be two phones: It’s been widely reported that we’ll see a version with a 4.7-inch screen and one with a 5.5-inch display — although Apple has confirmed none of it.

If the Sept. 9 date comes to fruition, we fully expect the new device(s) to be available for sale on Friday, Sept. 19, with pre-orders being taken the week before. Last year, Apple announced the iPhone 5s on Tuesday, Sept. 10, then followed with a release date of Friday, Sept. 20. It seems to reason that the company will follow a similar schedule this year.
