PaaS provider Apprenda has launched its OneCloud Alliance, an initiative that brings together cloud providers including HP, Amazon Web Services, Citrix and Oracle, among others.

As a result, enterprises – and their VARs and MSPs – don’t have to worry about vendor lock-in for their cloud applications delivery, Apprenda said.

Apprenda said that’s because it has teamed with brands that are committed to ensuring old and new technologies work together in cloud computing scenarios.

“Our customers have lamented the challenges of working with locked-in enterprise stacks that vendors have sold them in the past," Sinclair Schuller, CEO of Apprenda, said in a prepared statement. “This will not happen with the OneCloud Alliance. It’s our commitment to customers that we will work with other vendors to ensure interoperability and portability in the cloud era."
