ScanSource Inc., which last week bought Network1 in Brazil, is making another purchase. This time, it’s Imago Group plc out of Europe.

Imago distributes video and voice communications and equipment. ScanSource plans to buy the company’s operation in the UK, France and Germany for approximately $41 million.

Imago was founded in 1991. It is headquartered in the UK and earlier this summer bought videoconferencing specialist VITEC Distribution.

Ian Vickerage, founder and managing director of Imago, will remain in that role after he joins ScanSource; Imago will run as a separate business unit and Vickerage will report to Mike Ferny, president of worldwide communication and services at ScanSource.

Once the deal is complete, ScanSource will have almost 400 employees in more than 15 offices throughout Europe, in its communications, POS and barcode divisions.
