Verizon Wireless customers who want to upgrade their device before their two-year contract is up can do so now with tablets – in addition to smartphones.

Big Red’s upgrade plan, known as Edge, lets you pay for the device in 20 monthly installments with nothing down, giving you the option to upgrade it once you have either owned it for a month or paid off 60 percent of it. Previously available for smartphone purchases, you can now get any of Verizon’s dozen tablets as part of the plan.

Verizon sells all of Apple’s iPads, several Samsung tablets (notably the Galaxy Tab 4), the Google Nexus 7, the Sony Xperia Z2 and more, Droid Life noted.
