Organizations using Toshiba’s IPedge, Strata CIX and VIPedge now can network their cloud and on-premises systems together thanks to a new platform from the company.

The idea is to give end users one vendor for their phones, applications and SIP trunking, Toshiba said. To that point, the company introduced what it’s calling “hybrid premises plus cloud," a platform that lets different Toshiba systems work together.

Benefits include the following:

  • Toshiba’s internal dialing and IPMobility calling across the network;
  • Advanced Call Processing feature transparency; and
  • Ability for Strata CTX and CIX users to upgrade processor and firmware as required and network to VIPedge (which is cloud-based) to add new users and locations with minimum upfront capital expense.
