EarthLink on Tuesday took the lid off its new Wi-Fi service for vertical markets.

The service is available for sale through channel partners.

EarthLink's Secure WiFi Service comes with a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) that applies security policy so companies with multiple locations can deploy and manage public and private wireless networks. Firms such as retailers, restaurants, health care and financial providers further can support mobile POS applications, set up Wi-Fi for employees and guests, and launch personalized home pages.

The service is compliant with regulations including PCI, HIPAA, GBLA and SOX. Oversight of the Wi-Fi service is conducted from one Web portal.

EarthLink partnered with provider AirTight Networks to develop Secure WiFi Service.
