Talari Networks Inc. has released a monitoring application for its WAN appliances, and the new product gives channel partners a unique selling point.
First off, the software, called APN (Adaptive Private Networking) Aware, allows IT departments a view of real-time status and historical reporting on every individual link on the WAN. This lets IT teams identify and fix problems more quickly.
But APN Aware's reporting capabilities also give managers data that can be used to enforce SLAs with service providers – a key business value capability channel partners can use during the sales process.
"We allow our customers to understand the behavior of the links they are purchasing from service providers," said Emerick Woods, president and CEO of Talari. "Rather than trust the SLAs, they can actually see the performance of every link, including uptime, latency, jitter and loss in each direction – critical information they can use to determine the effectiveness of their investments with different service providers, and in some cases empower them to renegotiate contracts or enforce SLAs with their providers."
