Green Cloud Technologies said on Wednesday it has teamed with storage provider Tintri to create a new, cloud-based replication service.

A central component of this service is Tintri ReplicateVM, which will let Tintri customers replicate VMs from their existing Tintri storage system to Green Cloud’s data centers. Only the required data are replicated, which reduces WAN bandwidth consumption and improves overall performance.

The idea is to streamline VM availability for data protection, development testing, business intelligence reporting and other use cases.

Green Cloud only sells through the channel and said that this new service is available to both Green Cloud and Tintri customers.
