Verizon Wireless Customers Get E-Billing Without Signing Up for It

Verizon Wireless customers might be helping the environment without choosing to do so.

The carrier says customers who upgraded to a new phone at one of its retail outlets over the last several days might have automatically been selected for Verizon's paperless billing option. A glitch in the company's computers is responsible. Verizon confirmed the problem and is working to fix it, Computerworld reported.

Many people sign up for paperless billing to help cut down on their carbon footprint, but some who don't are concerned about the reliability of e-billing.
