Toshiba's telecom unit this week unveiled SIP trunking that works with its premises-based IPedge and Strata CIX phone systems.

I-VoIP is now available in the continental United States through Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division resellers. The service gives partners a way to sell a single-vendor platform from hardware to connectivity.

Plans include unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling. Both IPedge and Strata CIX will accommodate rollover trunks, which means calls to DIDs can be configured to roll over to a second SIP trunk, allowing the calls to be handled by multiple sites.
