Level 3, tw telecom Team With Amazon Web Services Direct Connect

October 24, 2013 - News

Level 3 Communications and tw telecom are the latest channel providers to team up with Amazon Web Services Direct Connect.

They join a number of other technology suppliers selling AWS cloud services through the channel, including Equinix, FiberLight, First Communications, Lightower, Telx, XO Communications and Zayo Group.

AWS Direct Connect lets enterprises establish dedicated network connections via 802.1q VLANs; the connection runs between the end user's network and the AWS Direct Connect location.

Level 3 now offers private network connections to every AWS Direct Connect location. The company added the support for AWS to its new Cloud Connect Solutions portfolio.

Meantime, tw telecom launched eLynk Express service for AWS Direct Connect 1G, 10G and hosted connections. eLynk Express streamlines the activation process and allows connectivity that flexes as bandwidth requirements change into the AWS cloud. tw telecom said the hosted option lets customers securely connect their clouds across one physical port.
