HP has developed new PartnerOne Specializations, added rebates to its compensation model and made some other changes to it channel program.
First, the new specializations focus on cloud, big data and services. The Platinum version includes software as well as a designation for the existing converged infrastructure specialization. New Gold specializations include Cloud Builder, Vertica, ServiceOne Enterprise, and ServiceOne Printing and Computing. New Silver specializations include Autonomy, Vertica and ServiceOne Enterprise. HP has also made enhancements to the Gold Managed specialization.
Next, HP now lists new rebate rates for each HP PartnerOne level in the HP PartnerOne Compensation Matrix, which can be accessed through the partner portals. The change expands the HP PartnerOne compensation model announced in June.
Another addition comes in the form of HP’s new Cloud Partner Solution Navigator. It's a portal that provides details on partners’ areas of specialty so customers can locate the right HP partner to help them migrate to cloud. HP will promote the highest partnership levels in HP end-user marketing campaigns and list these partners by membership level on the HP Global Partner Locator.
Finally, to simplify the certification process, HP has cut in half the number of technical certifications and created role-based certifications. For example, the number of exams required to obtain an Accredited Technical Professional (ATP) Server certification will drop by 80 percent in 2014, compared to 2013.
This means far less time out of the office for partners, HP said.
These enhancements will be available as of Nov. 1 in most countries. They were announced this week at HP's partner event in Barcelona.
