Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T, said that he sees a "huge opportunity" in Europe for investing in mobile broadband. After all, a lot of profit is already being generated from similar services in the U.S.
Stephenson offers some advice for the European Union: Get your mobile spectrum policy right so it can spur network investments, Reuters reported.
"I continue to be fascinated and impressed by how slow mobile broadband is moving in Europe. So I think of this as a huge opportunity for somebody," said Stephenson.
Since the beginning of the year, AT&T has been looking to Europe for possible expansion. Its chief rival, Verizon, recently agreed to buy out Vodafone's stake in Verizon Wireless – so there's clearly a precedent of U.S. and European carriers working together.
