iAreaNet is scheduled to unveil a new version of its cloud business communications suite, iAreaOffice, on Sept. 15. Version 5.0 of the suite will feature video, voice, data social media and mobility features that the company promises will make it "the most complete smart office suite available as a service today."

Version 5, known as iAreaOffice Freedom, is designed to give business partners an advantage for companies looking to stay competitive and accommodate the fading borders of today's workplace, according to iAreaNet CEO James DeCrescenzo.

"We've worked hard to build cutting-edge functionality into the new version, and that's exciting as it is," DeCrescenzo said. "But when we officially launch on Sept. 15, our partners and customers are going to also benefit from a surprise or two, which will have to do with business-model innovation. Stay tuned for details on this aspect of 5.0, but let's just say that the product name of 'Freedom' will prove to be very apropos."

According to iAreaNet managing director Andrew Campbell, "A solution like iAreaOffice can be a critical addition to [a channel partner's] portfolio because it gives them a perfect converged offering that allows them to bridge the worlds of IT and telecom."

iAreaOffice Freedom will have an official launch on Sept. 15 and will become available nationally through the company's channel partners by October 1.
