Cloud communications provider DSCI Corp. has teamed with ColoSpace Inc., a data center and managed services outsourcer, in a unique alliance.
The two companies say they want to create a faster cloud. As such, DSCI is supplying its metro Ethernet and dedicated Internet access on a new, 10-gigabit backbone connecting ColoSpace's data centers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. At the same time, ColoSpace is installing new Juniper equipment for switching and routing in its data centers. ColoSpace will keep doing managed services, while DSCI oversees the network backbone and underlying telecommunications carrier relationships.
The changes will deliver greater capacity and reliability, the companies said. As a result, they're guaranteeing uptime performance with 100-percent SLAs.
"We first partnered with ColoSpace in 2008 to lease colocation space for DSCI's customers," said Sean Dandley, president and CEO of DSCI, in a prepared statement. "Since then, the concept of 'the cloud' has really taken hold with businesses of all sizes. Now, DSCI and ColoSpace are working together to deliver the next generation of enterprise-grade cloud services."
