Agent Alliance Seeks VP To Support Growth

The Agent Alliance, a consortium of IT and telecom brokers, announced this week that it is recruiting a vice president to better support the organization's growth plans.

The new executive will assist CEO Bill Power in managing shareholder relations, developing and on-boarding new programs and providers, recruiting select new shareholders, and implementing strategic and tactical initiatives.

Power took on the role of CEO in 2008, becoming the first full-time employee and the face of the alliance for the past five years. He will continue to take the lead on the external-facing tasks with the vice president taking on more of the internal tasks.

Power told Channel Partners that the alliance wants to accelerate its growth plans and needs more staff support to make that happen. This year, the alliance has added three new members – Cloud Taskforce, Fostar Telecommunications and  Avant Communications Inc. – and is expecting to add more, with an initiative aimed at recruiting more IT solutions providers. Presently, it has 19 members.

Furthermore, the group has stepped up efforts to vet new providers, particularly in the cloud space, for its members. That effort, Power said, requires a lot of man hours, which the new executive can help take on

Candidates  should be experienced self-starters with attention to detail and strong interpersonal and consensus building skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to solve problems and negotiate difficult situations required. Preference will be given to applicants having experience in either the telecom channel industry or member organization management. Ability to work in a dispersed workforce environment with little hands-on supervision is an absolute prerequisite. Willingness to travel required.
