Progress Software Corp. today introduced Progress Pacific, a platform that lets ISVs build and manage “connected apps" on any cloud, mobile or social platform.

Connected apps integrate with real-time data from sources such as SaaS information, databases, big data, and social, CRM and ERP systems. That way, companies can react more quickly with analysis and problem-solving, with no vendor lock-in, Progress said.

Progress said its new product was made possible through the recent acquisition of Rollbase Inc., a private ISV that Gartner Inc. recently dubbed "One of the Cool Vendors in PaaS."

Progress Pacific will be generally available later in Progress’ fiscal third quarter; the Rollbase product is available now.
