EarthLink continues its nationwide IT services and data-center network expansion with the opening of its newest data center in San Jose, Calif.
The Atlanta-based company also has opened a new local sales office and is hiring to fulfill the business demand for its IT solutions that include cloud hosting, Cloud Workspace, managed security, colocation, Cloud Server Backup and application solutions in the Silicon Valley.
EarthLink says it is creating fault-tolerant, enterprise-class IT solutions with nationwide availability and high-performing network connectivity. This is one of four new data centers EarthLink is opening in 2013.
"San Jose is at the heart of the Silicon Valley, one of the most technologically-driven and innovative markets in the country, and an important hub and distribution point for IP traffic," said Michael Toplisek, EarthLink EVP of sales and marketing. "Our robust, new San Jose data center provides EarthLink with a West Coast presence that leverages a state-of-the-art, integrated computing and storage platform with power, space and cooling capacity that will scale to support current and future IT service demands."
EarthLink's strategy is to create a regionally diverse, expanded IT solutions footprint to support the growing and evolving needs of companies as they seek to virtualize their businesses.
