Windstream has landed yet another federal General Services Administration contract, this one for Region 4, which includes a number of southeastern states.
The contract lasts for 10 years and is worth millions of dollars. Windstream will provide voice, Internet, data and converged services to agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The agencies include the Labor Department, Justice Department, IRS and Social Security. Windstream has already been serving them through a separate contract since 2006.
The Region 4 contract adds another region to Windstream's list, which also includes Region 1 (Northeast), Region 2 (New York and New Jersey), Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic), Region 5 (Great Lakes), Region 6 (Heartland), and Region 9 (California).
