Master agency Intelisys announced Thursday that is has hired former SimpleSingal exec Aric Applefield as director of strategic programs.
In his new role, Applefield will have overall responsibility for managing and further developing Intelisys' key initiatives around channel education and partnerships with VARs and IT solutions providers. He will report to Andrew Pryfogle, senior vice president and general manager, cloud services and complex bids.
Applefield brings more than 13 years of industry experience to his new role. He spent the past seven years at cloud UC provider SimpleSignal, serving in various roles, most recently as COO. Prior to SimpleSignal, he spent five years at Redwire, a California ISP, serving first as director of sales and then vice president of business development. Previously, he was regional manager for broadband service provider Darwin Networks.
At Intelisys, Applefield's three primary responsibilities include managing and developing Cloud Services University, an educational initiative launched in 2012 to teach partners how to sell cloud services; running the Channel Alignment Program, which facilitates the partnering of VARs/IT solution providers with qualified Intelisys sales partners; and developing additional ways to strategically partner with VARs/IT solution providers.
Intelisys is a distributor of business communications services including voice, data, access, cable, collaboration, wireless and cloud.
