Fiber provider DukeNet Communications said on Monday it has upgraded its core network, which means it now can deliver 100G wavelengths.
The improvements come as bandwidth consumption continues to rise.
To accommodate the increases, DukeNet said its network enhancement provides 100G-capable coherent Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, which deploys 40G and 100G connectivity for carriers and enterprises. That way, users don't have to replace existing fiber infrastructure.
DukeNEt's 100G upgrade is powered by the Cisco ONS 15454.
