Catalyst Telecom now sells EMC Corp.'s storage platforms that work with Avaya IP Office.
Catalyst, a distributor and sales unit of ScanSource Inc., said EMC’s VNX and VNXe storage technology, combined with Avaya IP Office, gives resellers access to a complete unified communications and storage platform for SMEs.
Customers "have been demanding complementary storage solutions from our sales team," said Mike Ferney, vice president of merchandising for Catalyst Telecom. As a result, adding VNX and VNXe to Avaya IP Office "makes enterprise-grade storage accessible for small- and medium-sized businesses," said Anton Prenneis, OEM technical evangelist for EMC.
Karl Soderlund, vice president Americas channel sales at Avaya, said the EMC-Catalyst Telecom relationship comes at a good time, as the move toward virtualized software applications drives resellers to platforms that require storage.
"EMC has also been a great partner with Avaya on our collaboration efforts, and we look forward to enhancing this relationship," he said.
