Novus Entices Microsoft Lync Partners With Endpoint Affiliate Program

Telecom and IP distributor Novus wants to work with Microsoft partners, who it says are leaving money on the table.

As such, the Connecticut-based company has introduced its new Endpoint Affiliate Program for Microsoft partners deploying Lync Enterprise Voice platforms. Throughout 2013, partners whose leads results in sales of qualified Microsoft Lync desktop phone systems within 12 months will earn rebates for each endpoint. The rebates range from $4-$9 per device, depending on the product. Eligible gear is listed in Microsoft's hardware catalog, and includes IP phones, meeting room devices, headsets and cameras.

Novus said Microsoft partners tend to feel reluctant or unable to recommend hardware installations alongside Lync deployments. And that results in lost revenue, the distributor said. To fix the problem, Novus is offering to remove the burden of hardware and sales and support from Microsoft partners, instead working directly with end users to provide demo units, remote training, tech support, delivery and, when needed, installation of Lync endpoints. However, Novus would prefer that partners remain engaged throughout the process, to maintain strong relationships with the client and with Novus, and to learn more about endpoints.

“We want to help partners recognize new revenue opportunities related to offering Microsoft Lync Enterprise Voice and provide the telephony expertise to facilitate more Lync deployments," said Chris Meehan, managing partner for Novus.

Endpoint Affiliate Program participants must be authorized Microsoft partners; they must sign an agreement with Novus and submit fresh leads. Novus said it will tell partners when a lead already has been registered. The company also said it enforces a strict confidentiality and privacy policy, meaning it will not share partners' information with other partners.

Novus said its new initiative went into effect on Jan. 3.
