LifeSize, a division of Logitech, has announced its newly designed video system, LifeSize Icon Series.
The new system introduces what the company says is a new and simplified user experience designed to ease the stresses associated with video communication so that anyone can use it without training.
Since the video conferencing market is entering a transitional phase, LifeSize aims to transform the video communication experience with the introduction of “smart video." This new technology eliminates the cost and complexity issues normally associated with video conferencing so that users can focus on their business, the company said.
“Making a video call should not involve pressing a dozen buttons, deciphering a complicated remote control and navigating through an intimidating user interface," said Colin Buechler, chief executive officer of LifeSize. “It is those barriers, along with outrageous cost and an overwhelming burden on IT, that have dissuaded businesses from fully adopting video collaboration."
LifeSize says the Icon Series is tightly integrated with LifeSize UVC Platform and its applications, making buying and supporting video conferencing more flexible and efficient, allowing companies to buy the applications their users need and scale as those needs grow.
The series is globally available today starting at $3,000.
