Distributor Ingram Micro Inc. said today it has named Bashar Nejdawi as president of Ingram Micro North America Mobility, effective immediately.

Nejdawi has worked in telecom and mobility for 29 years and moves up from the position of senior vice president of corporate strategic initiatives and partnerships for Ingram Micro Mobility. He replaces Mark Howell, who resigned to pursue personal interests, Ingram Micro said. Howell will work with Nejdawi through Jan. 18.

Howell was an 18-year veteran of Brightpoint, which Ingram Micro Mobility bought last summer. Nejdawi  also worked for Brightpoint – he joined the company in 2008 after leaving Motorola.

Nejdawi reports to Shailendra Gupta, senior executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro Asia Pacific and global head of Ingram Micro Mobility.
